Founder, Executive Director, Head of Acting

Rema founded On Broadway to create a place where young people could come and have a

one-of-a-kind Musical Theatre experience. She has built this strengths based program because she grew up in programs where they beat you down a little bit about your weaknesses to make you "stronger." She feels it’s already hard enough being a child, an artist, who is already feeling awkward and sensitive. To then have someone harp on those weaknesses—it doesn’t sit well with her.  So, she feels that we should empower our students and tell them let’s turn to all the wonderful things that you are doing. Then, we can slowly improve upon those weaker areas without them even noticing. Rema is a 20-year Broadway veteran and her mission is to pass on her knowledge, create a better learning environment and inspire the next generation of young artists. She was most recently seen in the Andrew Lloyd Webber Revue: Unmasked at Paper Mill Playhouse, as well as Hercules at the Delacorte TheaterBroadway Credits include: Escape to Margaritaville, The Color Purple, A New Brain at City Center, Violet, The Lion King, Book of Mormon and Ragtime.  TV & Film Credits include: NBC's The Sound of Music Live, First Born, Beloved, Sudden Death and Murphy Brown.  Rema debuted her critically acclaimed solo concert, Children Will Listen, at 54 Below and had an encore performance at 42 West. Rema feels honored that God or the universe allows her to have On Broadway and that families choose us to mentor their children and offer them a safe haven.

Because of my personal commitment to the performing arts… because of my commitment to mentoring young people… because of my commitment to education… I must share my experiences, encourage and help usher in newer generations of young students to be the best at whatever they decide to do in life."
